Here comes the rain again!

Song lyrics float through my head on a regular basis, which is quite ironic since I can't seem to carry a tune.  Well, today, the rain came down pretty hard at our worksite.  The title of this blog post kept playing in my head today as the rains came washing down on top of us.  Thankfully, the storm waited until almost 1:30 to begin falling, but we had to pack up early to avoid the thunderstorm.

At the house, we continued to prepare the outside of the house for painting tomorrow, finished all of the soffit work, and finished the metal trim about the soffit.  We got pretty good at our jobs but we know we will be seeking some new ones tomorrow as we have mostly finished what we were working on.  We hope to begin painting the house tomorrow as well as begin some of the drywall work.

After working hard this morning and briefly into the afternoon, we headed back to the church, where the youth put their heads down, "for just a minute," that turned into a several hour nap.  It was hard and hot work today and we were all exhausted still from the first night with no AC, so we felt we earned a much needed rest.

When the naps finally ended, we enjoyed some Pokemon Go hunting, games galore and a wonderful breakfast for dinner meal!  The devotion tonight was led by Emma and Josey and they talked about unexpected things that happen in the course of our work at the house and unexpected things that happen in our lives.  We then enjoyed even more game time (there was a very lively game of Uno played and I would have sworn it was for a lot of money with the excitement that was coming from that direction!) and continued to bond as a group.

Tomorrow is another day of work on Mr. David's house and I am proud of how hard our young people are working.  They are endure through the heat (and it is hot and humid!), the beating sun, and have not complained one time when asked to do a task.  Everyone is pitching in and working, finding a job that suits his/her talents and skill level.  It is great to see!  Be proud of the youth of Sardis Presbyterian Church as they serve in the name of Jesus!
